Two More Human West Nile Cases Confirmed

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — Two new human cases of West Nile Virus have been confirmed bringing the state’s 2018 total to 33. It’s still peak season for West Nile and the state department of health urges everyone to take precautions to avoid mosquitoes by removing areas of standing water, using repellent and wearing long, loose clothing when outdoors. Last year there were 63 cases and two deaths in Mississippi.
