Two Indicted In 2016 Death Of MSU Student

STARKVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Two men have been indicted on capital murder charges in the 2016 shooting death of a Mississippi State University student. Joseph Tillman was fatally shot on Maxwell Street in Starkville on November 6th last year in what police say was an attempted robbery. Four adults and one juvenile were eventually arrested. Jaylen Barker and Syboris Pippins, both of Columbus, have now been indicted for the slaying. Two other suspects – Jamario Pippins and Brandon Sherrod – were charged as accessories to murder after the fact. The juvenile’s status has not been reported.
