Two Drew County Murders In Less Than A Day

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — Two separate shootings Tuesday left two men dead in Drew County. Just past noon, Monticello Police received a report of a shooting at 513 West Shelton. When officers arrived, they found 54-year-old Harold Miller Jr. dead, according to State Police. 55-year-old Arnold LaRon White Sr. has been charged with manslaughter in Miller’s death. Miller’s body is being transported to the State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy. Then, at around 11:00 PM 20-year-old Christon Sheets was fatally shot in his home in Wilmar. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober says Sheets’ girlfriend, who was at the home when the shooting occurred, called 911 and Sheets was taken to Drew Memorial Hospital where he later died. Police are looking for two men for questioning who were visiting Sheets’ home Tuesday night who they consider to be possible suspects.
