Two Dead in Separate Arkansas Traffic Mishaps

DREW COUNTY, AR (Ben Caxton) — Two separate accidents have led to two fatalities in Southeast Arkansas. 28-year-old Gould resident Jauswun Lane was walking along U.S. 65 in Lincoln County around 6:15 PM Sunday evening when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. He was taken to Delta Memorial Hospital in Dumas where he was pronounced dead by a deputy county coroner. On Monday a Crossett woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Drew County. Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober says 51-year-old Sherry Gammell was traveling east on Gee’s Landing Road in southwest Drew County when she lost control of the SUV she was driving causing it to overturn in a ditch. Gammell was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
