Trump Organization Pulls out Of Delta Hotels

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — At least four proposed, or nearly completed Delta hotel projects will not have the Trump name behind them according to a report in Thursday’s New York Times. Citing the current political climate the Trump Organization has pulled out of participation in the nearly completed four-star Scion hotel in Cleveland, along with a second chain of hotels, called American Idea, that had been expected to open later this year in Greenville, Cleveland, and Clarksdale. The hotels were a collaboration between the Trump Organization, run by Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and Mississippi businessmen Dinesh and Suresh Chawla. The Chawlas, who own 18 hotels in Mississippi, planned to develop the hotels while the Trumps would brand and manage them. Reports indicate the Chawla’s company plans to move forward with the projects with our without the Trump branding but did not issue a statement on the Times story.
