Tornado Watch for Issaquena & Sharkey Counties

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — The National Weather Service has posted a Tornado Watch for Sharkey and Issaquena counties until 9:00 PM tonight. Strong storms are covering the southwest third of the listening area and spreading north-northeastward. An outbreak of severe storms and tornados, centered on Lousiana is expected this afternoon and tonight. The south half of the delta has a moderate risk of severe weather and tornados. The north, an enhanced risk. A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect in the southern parts of our area through tomorrow morning as two to four inches of rain is possible from these storms over the next 12 hours or so.
