Tornado Warning for Madison County MS and 1 More

JACKSON, MS (527 PM CDT SAT APR 13 2019) — The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Tornado Warning for Yazoo County in central Mississippi Central Madison County in central Mississippi until 630 PM CDT. At 526 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Phoenix, or 16 miles east of Redwood, moving northeast at 50 mph. HAZARD: Tornado and quarter size hail. SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. This storm has a history of producing tornadoes. Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This dangerous storm will be near Tinsley around 540 PM CDT. Little Yazoo around 545 PM CDT. Myrleville around 550 PM CDT. Benton around 555 PM CDT. Way around 605 PM CDT. Vaughan around 610 PM CDT. Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Satartia, Bentonia and Eden. TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris. Heavy rainfall may hide this tornado.
