The area at risk stretches from east Texas and northern Louisiana into central extreme southern Arkansas and central and southern Mississippi. Numerous tornadoes are expected. Some of them may be strong and on the ground for a long period of time. The stronger storms may contain winds up to hurricane force and hail up to the size of baseballs. The greatest risk for tornadoes will exist from portions of far east Texas eastward across northern Louisiana this afternoon and evening and then into central and southern Mississippi tonight.
