Three Injured in Weekend Leland Shootings

LELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — In the battle for top honors in the “Most People Shot” in a week category, Leland is closing on Greenville. Leland police report that two domestic violence incidents escalated into shootings where three people ended up being shot. Arriving Friday night at the Stallings apartments officers discovered one man, Terry Jackson, stabbed and shot, and Robert Felstus shot in the chest. Police say a woman called her brother for help getting rid of her boyfriend. When the brother asked the man to leave he shot him in the chest. At which point the woman took the gun and shot her boyfriend in the leg. Somewhere in the middle of that, the woman’s brother was able to knife her boyfriend. All three were charged with aggravated assault and are free on $20,000 bond. A third person was shot in another weekend incident which remains under investigation by Leland Police who have not released details.
