Three Charged In Greenwood’s First Homicide Of 2018

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Three people have been charged in the killing of a Greenwood man last week, including the alleged shooter’s mother. 19-year-old Justin Johnson is charged with murder and is being held on $250,000 bond. Johnson’s 20-year-old girlfriend, Mikayla Pitts, and the victim’s mother, 44-year-old Joyce Clark, are both charged as accessories after the fact $200,000 bonds each. All three lived together at an address on Bowie Lane in Greenwood. Greenwood Police say Clark was arrested at the Bowie Lane address on Wednesday, while Pitts and Johnson were picked up in a trailer home in Carroll County by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. The three are accused in the Tuesday shooting death on Broad Street of 48-year-old Bryant Keith Ramsey. Ramsey died of a gunshot wound to the head. It was Greenwood’s first homicide of 2018, and the second in Leflore County this year.
