The Washington County Board of Supervisors has approved the purchase of equipment to start constructing a splash pad near the convention center

The area will have water sprays rising from a play area so kids can keep cool this summer. The County will spend 33-thousand dollars to purchase the equipment from a Tennessee-based company. Officials say they are saving over 50-thousand dollars by having some of the labor and construction done by employees who already work for the county. Dirt work and plumbing is underway now, and the splash pad is expected to open by late April.
