The Greenville City Council has chosen a new member for the Public School District Board of Trustees

The City Council has chosen Kimberly Merchant to serve on the board that sets policy for Greenville’s public schools. She will represent Ward One and serve a five-year term beginning on March 1st. She was chosen among a field of seven candidates by a vote of 4 to 2. The other two votes went to current board member Jerry Hafter, who was seeking another term after 24 years on the board.
