The City Council has chosen Kimberly Merchant to serve on the board that sets policy for Greenville’s public schools. She will represent Ward One and serve a five-year term beginning on March 1st. She was chosen among a field of seven candidates by a vote of 4 to 2. The other two votes went to current board member Jerry Hafter, who was seeking another term after 24 years on the board.
