The federal government has proposed reductions in Mississippi’s carbon dioxide emissions

The U.S Environmental Protection Agency has set specific targets for all states to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions from power plants. In Mississippi, the proposal aims for a 38-percent reduction by the year 2030 when compared with 2005. State officials say they’re still reviewing the plan to see whether it would cause the cost of electricity to go up.
