The City of Greenville is stepping up the efforts to fix Broadway Street

The City has applied for a one point two million dollar match grant from the Mississippi Development Authority as well as an 800-thousand dollar low interest loan to finish up repairs on Broadway. The project involves repairs and relocation of water lines, which have to be finished before the road can be repaved and rehabilitated. City officials say the goal is to get the revenues together and permanently fix the road, which has been considered a public safety hazard as well as a financial burden on the city.
