The August primary election is being contested and a new election is being requested

Members of the Washington County Board of Supervisors appeared before the Washington County Democratic Executive Committee. Ernest Holmes and Troy Wesley don’t believe that Carl McGee defeated Wesley by 74 votes for the County Board of Supervisor’s District 3. Holmes who has served as a supervisor for 21- years can’t believe that he lost his district five seat to Jerry Redmond. Democratic Executive Committee President Willie Griffin called the meeting to hear the allegations. Holmes and Wesley’s attorney Jamie Jacks stood before the executive committee to deliver the statement on behalf of the board members. They complain that election boxes were not secure or properly sealed and the circuit clerk did not control the boxes.
