Thanksgiving Accidents Mar Holiday Across The Delta

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Traffic accidents marred Thanksgiving celebrations across the Delta. On Sunday evening a one-car wreck on Canada Cross Road near Edwards sent all five occupants to a Vicksburg hospital when the driver swerved to avoid a deer crossing the road. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. Bolivar County reported several wrecks over the Holiday including near Shelby, Winstonville, and on North Bayou Road. The one car crash late on Thanksgiving Day on Highway 32 West of Shelby involved two passengers, one male, and one female, one of whom was ejected from the vehicle. One victim was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis and the other to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
