Telemarketers Charged for 400 Violations

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Public Service Commission has charged five telemarketers with over 400 violations of the Mississippi No-Call law. MediaStratX, United Support, Advanced Marketing Science, Vehicle Protection Specialists, and Ascendant Marketing Group are subject to fines of $5000 per call, a total of $2.2 million. Commission Chairman Brandon Presley encourages Mississippians to download the PSC’s smartphone app which can be found by searching “PSC No-Call” in the iTunes App Store or Google Play Marketplace. The app allows citizens to immediately report calls to the PSC from their cell phones. Landline phones can also be registered at www.psc.state.ms.us or by calling the PSC at (800) 637-7722.

  5. This is great, but they never actually pay the fines! There was someone on Fox News awhile back & said that only $6 thousand + has been paid in fines in the whole USA! That’s ridiculous! So fining them is not a deterrent!
