Swift Justice in Drew County Drug Case

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — A Monticello man went from selling drugs from a pharmacy parking lot on a Tuesday afternoon to a ten-year prison sentence yesterday in Drew County. 27-year-old Ricky Johnson fled police when they approached him while selling methamphetamine from his pickup truck. He fled on foot but was quickly captured crossing nearby Highway 425. A local drug task force then arrested Johnson and charged him with delivery of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver. In court on Monday on previous charges, Johnson accepted a plea offer to combine the new charges with the older ones and accept a sentence of ten years in prison.
