Supervisor faces public uproar

Paul Watson has resigned as president of the Washington County Board of Supervisors but will remain on the board as a regular member, after an outcry over his use of the n-word in a public setting to describe a female employee of the Washington County Jail. More than 40 people attended a meeting on Monday, and many let Watson know that his choice of words had embarrassed the entire community. He apologized at the end and offered his resignation as president. Supervisor Jesse Amos will take over as president of the board.
