Stolen Church Van Recovered with Bullet Holes

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — A van stolen from a Monticello Church has been recovered – with bullet holes. The van, belonging to Shady Grove Baptist Church, was taken around December 28th, but the theft was not noticed by church officials. Instead, police discovered the van abandoned, stuck in the mud alongside some railroad tracks on a back road. Police say they found boards at the scene that indicated the thieves try to free it from the mud. The van was found with the windows shot out and multiple bullet holes in the side. Inside the van police found items stolen in an earlier Monticello burglary.
