State Wants Drivers More Aware Of School Buses

MISSISSIPPI (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol and Mississippi Department of Education have teamed up on a safety campaign to encourage drivers to be more aware around school buses and help kids get to and from school safely. A 30-state survey in January found 78,000 vehicles passing stopped school buses. Beginning immediately state troopers will be visible in areas with school buses and making sure other motorists obey traffic laws as the buses are picking up or dropping off students.
