CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Development Authority this week confirmed expansion plans of a Delta business. Molded Acoustical Products of Easton currently employs 60 workers at its Clarksdale factory and plans to hire another 24. The company is investing $480,000 to expand production of sound insulation products; the state is directing another $480,000 of federal community development money and loaning MAP of Easton $586,000 at a low-interest rate to add a showroom for clients to the facility. The building is owned by the city of Clarksdale, but the city and Coahoma County are not financial contributors to the project.
