State Invests in 150 News Clarksdale Jobs

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — California-based PeopleShores, which opened in Clarksdale in January, has announced plans to invest $500,000 and hire another 150 workers over two years. PeopleShores is a business outsourcing firm whose employees perform tasks for technology, insurance, retail, financial and travel firms. The Mississippi Development Authority says workers will initially make $20,000 a year. The state will provide $256,000 for worker training and the Delta Regional Authority is providing $70,000 for renovations to the building People Shores is leasing from Coahoma County and will spend $100,000 to repave a parking lot.
