Sports Parks Boosts Vicksburg Economy by over $12 Million

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — New figures just released show that Vicksburg’s “Sports Force Parks on the Mississippi” have contributed $12.4 million to the local economy since opening in February. The company’s annual report to the city showed the 75-acre complex welcomed 135,000 visitors during that time for softball, baseball, and soccer tournaments, each spending an average of nearly $100 per day. Plans for 2020 include the completion of two additional ball fields to help ease capacity problems during baseball and softball tournaments and the possibility of adding lights to some fields that for now can only be used during daytime hours.
