Splash Pad Dedication Rescheduled for Tuesday

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — The rededication of the brand new “Catfish Row” splash pad is set for Tuesday in Vicksburg. The event will get underway just as its starting to get dark around 8:00 PM to show off the attraction’s colored water light show set to music. South Ward Alderman Alex Monsour told the Vicksburg Post the event was delayed from last week when a water pipe leak was discovered near one of the restrooms. He added that the contractor, Planet Recess, still needs to train him and two other people on the splash pad’s operation. The city decided to demolish the old splash pad, which was a very popular Vicksburg attraction after they discovered that it would cost more to repair leaks in the old system than to start over and build a new splash pad.
