Special Council Meeting in Greenville Searches for Green Space

Chicot Memorial

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Greenville is still looking for green space. The City Council this week called a special meeting to discuss the coming downtown grass crunch caused by the federal government’s planned new federal building which will pave over Steinmart Square. In talks with the General Services Administration with the city over design of the new courthouse the city has suggested the space include everything from outdoor seating areas and a splash pad to a stage and lightning for downtown events.
