South Delta declines offer on A.J. Jefferson’s foreclosed house

The South Delta Regional Housing Authority Board of Supervisors has declined an offer on a purchase of the home formerly belonging to the disgraced executive director. During an executive session, the board decided to hold off on an offer from resident Linda Knight to purchase the house at 301 Huddleston Street in Leland and consider a higher offer. South Delta acquired the home in foreclosure earlier this year after fired executive director A.J. Jefferson went to federal prison for convictions on embezzlement and other charges. The house in question has an appraised value of approximately 150-thousand dollars.
