Smoke Detectors Save Cleveland Family

Chicot Memorial

Fire officials say smoke detectors saved a Cleveland family. Investigators say a blaze broke out in the 1000 block of Moore Avenue in the bedroom Saturday afternoon. They say the family was inside the home when the flames broke out. Bolivar County Fire Chief Lee Tedder credits the smoke alarm for the family’s safety and he reminds everyone to always check your smoke detectors and replace the batteries. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
