Six Inches Of Hail From Monday Storms In Northern Mississippi

RIPLEY, MS (Ben Caxton) — An early Monday afternoon thunderstorm pounded northern Mississippi with heavy accumulations of hail. In Ripley twitter images on the web show spots with mostly small pea-sized hail six inches deep on lawns and parking lots. Radar tracking of the storm showed the hail fell along a 50-mile path from Holly Springs to Booneville. The storm tracked across the entire state from west to east, decreasing in severity as it headed toward the Alabama border.
