Shots Fired in Vicksburg Restaurant Fight

VICKSBURG, MS (Ben Caxton) — A fight at a Vicksburg restaurant escalated into gunfire Tuesday evening. Vicksburg Police were called to the El Sombrero on Cypress Center Drive around 9:45 PM. By the time officers arrived the fight between customers had spilled out into the restaurant’s parking lot where shots were fired. No one was injured, but the city closed the restaurant until representatives met with Vicksburg Chief of Police Milton Moore and Mayor George Flaggs Jr. the next morning. After agreeing to the city’s demands for increased security El Sombrero was allowed to reopen in time for Thanksgiving.
