Shootings Continue on Memphis Area Interstates

MEMPHIS, TN (Bn Caxton) — There have been more than 30 interstate shootings in Memphis this year, the latest one Friday around 10 PM on I-240 at Perkins Road. No one was injured but Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland is fed up with the shootings and hopes state leaders will increase penalties for these incidents. Most of the interstate shootings have happened on I-240, I-40, I-55 and Bill Morris Parkway and Memphis city, Shelby County and the Tennessee Highway Patrol have increased patrols in those areas.
