Sheriff Arrests Four Guards For Aiding In Latest Escape

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MS(Ben Caxton) — After another embarrassing escape, last weekend from the Washington County Correctional Facility near Greenville, four correctional officers at the facility have been arrested. 29-year-old Lorenzo Deshay Dye was being held on charges of carjacking, armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping when he was found missing last Sunday. The Sheriff’s Office says that after an investigation it was determined that four guards helped Dye escape. The four officers, Donald Fields, Craig Brown, George Lyles and Anthony Phillip have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to help an inmate escape and accessory to providing contraband inside a correctional facility. Meanwhile, Dye remains on the loose.
