DREW COUNTY, AR (Ben Caxton) — Details have emerged on a Drew County incident last week that resulted in the arrest of a man on domestic battery charges who’d been shot by his partner. Sheriff Mark Gober says that last Friday 44-year-old Kenny Ray Lloyd was shot by his 49-year-old girlfriend after being asked after sex about his relationship with her daughter. According to Gober after the girlfriend asked the awkward question Lloyd left the residence but returned a few minutes later having forgotten his cigarettes and found the doors locked. After an argument, he kicked in the back door at which point he was shot in the shoulder with a handgun. Lloyd then bounded over a pile Christmas presents to get to a closet to get a shotgun, while the woman and her daughter escaped through the woods and ran to a relative’s home for help. Deputies recovered a 22-Magnum revolver from the home, and while interviewing the woman saw marks on the woman’s face and rib cage from an earlier assault by Lloyd. They later found Lloyd, intoxicated, and he was arrested for domestic battery 3rd degree which caused injury.
