Severe Weather Likely Again This Weekend

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Severe thunderstorms, including some tornadoes, are expected for the second weekend in a row across the South following last Sunday’s deadly tornado outbreak that killed dozens of people in Alabama. Thunderstorms will develop in the southern Plains overnight as a deep low-pressure system swings from the Southwest to the Midwest. Severe weather could break out at any time through mid-evening today with forecasters saying large hail and damaging straight-line winds are the primary concerns across the Delta. Tornadoes, however, are a possibility in the stronger storms as well.
