Severe Weather Likely Across the Delta Today

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Forecasters say an outbreak of severe storms is likely across the Delta today. A stalled frontal boundary will be lifting northward as a low-pressure system develops and sweeps across the area from the west. The combination of cold temperatures to the north and behind the low, and warm, humid air to the south will result in a line of thunderstorms developing that likely will produce severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and large hail. The greatest threat for severe weather will be during the afternoon going into the early evening hours.
