Severe Storms Possible Across the Delta Today

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Forecasters say an outbreak of severe storms is possible across the Delta from this afternoon into tonight. The culprit is a cold front moving into Mississippi from the northwest that will bring rain to the region, along with the slight risk of damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. Rainfall totals are expected to fall between 0.25 to 1.75 inches, but higher total amounts could be seen locally. Two tornadoes struck central Mississippi on Wednesday in the communities of Star, and Johns.
