Seven Gang Members Face Federal Charges

JACKSON, MS (Paul Wilson) — The FBI has arrested seven members of the Black Gangster Disciples street gang on federal drug charges. Five residents of Pike County, one from Lincoln County and an Illinois resident were arrested this month following a two-year investigation. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says gangs are responsible for most of the violent crime and drug activity in the state and these types of crackdowns are necessary to curb violence in Mississippi. Three suspects are charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and five are charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute marijuana.
