September 23: The Week In Review

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — If you weren’t listening to Delta Radio this week, here’s what you might have missed. Fall arrived but cooler weather did not. MSU made its debut in the national football polls. Vicksburg’s Mayor went to Washington looking for money, while a Vicksburg double-amputee died in a house fire. A Batesville 2nd-grade teacher was fired after a racist Facebook post. In Rosedale, the school board found out repair projects they thought were complete have not even been bid. A body found in a Metcalfe bean field was identified, Greenville police arrested three men for a daylight armed robbery, and Cleveland police put four behind bars after a street shootout that injured one. Two inmates escaped from Parchman Penitentiary, were captured, and a guard who may have helped them was arrested. All this and more, this week on Delta Radio, and www.deltadailynews.com
