Sentencing Delayed for Former Corrections Commissioner

(Jackson, MS) — Former Mississippi Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps was scheduled to be sentenced January 6th for his role in a corruption scheme while serving as the commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Corrections but Judge Henry Wingate said he’ll delay sentencing until April 11th. Sam Wagner, accused of bribing him, is expected to also be sentenced in April, while Cecil McCrory may be sentenced in May or June.
