Section Of I-55 Named For Fallen Trooper

DESOTO COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — A section of Interstate 55 has been dedicated to a fallen Mississippi Highway patrolman. The marker in DeSoto County honors trooper Bobby “Bubba” Wells who died in June of 1995. He was struck and killed by a passing car while conducting a traffic stop. First responders killed in the line of duty have brought increased awareness to “move over” laws in the Mid-South.
