SeaPort employees in limbo

Five employees who had been hired to staff a Seaport Airlines ticket counter at the Mid-Delta Regional Airport are in limbo, after news that the Portland, Oregon based airline will not begin service as planned on January 12th. Airline officials say they are having trouble with an economically viable business model related to the Memphis Airport. People who already bought tickets for Greenville to Memphis flights will receive a refund. Seaport said it’s still trying to work things out but a new date for service has not been set. The Chamber and Economic Development Center of Washington County has cancelled a planned Business After Hours celebration for Seaport Airlines until further notice.
