Saundra Mardis Lane, 57, of Greenville, died Sunday, August 21, 2016
at her residence with her family by her side.
A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 at St. James Episcopal Church; under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home. The Reverend Brandt Dick will officiate.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
Saundra was born November 25th, 1958 in Bastrop, LA the daughter of Eugene Mardis and Fannie Bradshaw Mardis. She lived the majority of her life in Greenville, MS. During her life she was a travel agent and most recently worked at the Greenville Arts Association. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church, Habitat for Humanity, Delta Cotton Belles, Vestry at St. James Episcopal Church, and Delta Arts Council.
Saundra enjoyed photography, playing tennis, spending time with friends and family as well as traveling.
She was awarded “Volunteer of the Year 2015” by Greenville Honors It’s Own; and also the “Angel Among Us Award” at St. James Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her husband, Todd Galloway Lane; father, Eugene (Barbara) Mardis of Greenville; mother, Fannie Winters of Greenville; two sisters, Cynthia (Gregg) Trussell of Madison and Jennifer (Reid) Stuart of Lake Village, AR; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hunter Matthews of Rolling Fork; one brother-in-law, Joe Todd Lane of Wickliffe, KY; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial to: St. James Episcopal Church and the Greenville Arts Council.
