Run-Off Election for Council Seat in Friars Point

FRIARS POINT, MS (Ben Caxton) — A vacant seat on the Friars Point city council will be filled with a runoff election November 6th. The seat came open when alderman Glenn Marshall died; last week Marshall’s brother Melvin received 90 votes, former alderman Joe Sawyer got 86 and Crystal Murray received 40 but no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes.
