Rosedale Library Needs Money Because It Smells Bad

ROSEDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Rosedale boasts the second busiest library in Bolivar County, second only to the Robinson-Carpenter Memorial Library in Cleveland. But when it comes to bad odors, the Rosedale library edges out Cleveland by more than a nose. Apparently, the library roof is leaking. And the leaks have led to a host of problems including damage, and that odd smell. The library detailed numerous issues that need to be fixed, all requiring money before the city council this week. While there is a private campaign to raise money to fix the issues more will be needed. The library directory and librarian say the building needs not only to have the roof fixed, but heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning units have not worked for years, exterior siding is in bad repair, and the building’s bathrooms have no locks.
