Richland Police Fire Two For Sexual Misconduct

RICHLAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Two Richland police officers are out of a job this week. Police Chief Russell James has confirmed that two of his officers have been fired for sexual misconduct. The confirmation came in a Facebook posting by the Richland Police Department which said that the misconduct was discovered during a separate investigation and brought to the Chief’s attention. The officers were officially terminated Wednesday after the Richland Board of Aldermen met Tuesday to make the decision. The officers’ names have not been made public, and no charges are pending against either at this time.
