One Hospitalized In Greenwood Shooting

GREENWOOD, MS (Ben Caxton) — Greenwood Police revealed yesterday that they are investigating a Saturday shooting resulted in one man being hospitalized. Police were called to the Triple Stop at 1826 Carrollton Avenue around midnight and found shell casings scattered through the parking lot, and around a fuel pump. One vehicle at the scene had bullet holes in the window. One victim, Maurice Tims, was later located at the local hospital and interviewed. He claimed he was shot while exiting the store and was not armed. Tims suffered a single gunshot wound on his left side just above the waist with no exit wound. He was later airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.
