One Dead, One Injured in Monticello Crash

MONTICELLO, AR (Ben Caxton) — One woman is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon east of Monticello. Arkansas State police say 88-year-old Carlyne Dickey of Monticello was killed around 3:15 PM when a 1999 GMC driven by 44-year-old Tonya Lampkin of McGehee crossed the centerline and struck Dickey’s vehicle head-on. Dickey was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner. Lampkin was airlifted for treatment to a hospital in Little Rock. The accident occurred two miles east of the U.S. 278 bypass on Highway 35.
