Ole Miss Advertises For New Coach As Team Loses

OXFORD, MS (Ben Caxton) — It may just be coincidence, but the Ole Miss Rebels posted an official job listing for a new full-time head football coach just hours after the team lost 44-23 at Auburn on Saturday The Rebels are 2-3 under interim head coach Matt Luke, picked to lead the program after Hugh Freeze resigned in July. Also on Saturday Southern Miss beat UT-San Antonio 31-29. Alcorn State beat Alabama State 24-10. Jackson State lost at Prairie View 38-9, Delta State fell to West Alabama 29-26, and Mississippi Valley State got their first win of the season, defeating Arkansas Pine Bluff 38-31.
