November 4: The Week In Review

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Another week has gone by in the Delta, and if you weren’t listening to Delta Radio every morning he’s what you missed. Jason Aldean sang in Tupelo and another shooting broke out. In Clarksdale, a furniture store caught fire for the second time while a Greenville car fire appears to have been arson. More superintendent trouble surfaced at West Bolivar Consolidated schools while Mississippi’s Lieutenant Governor said he’d listen to opponents of a coming Greenwood-Leflore school merger. Four suspects were implicated in Metcalfe murder by Washington County Sheriff’s, and a Greenwood murder case ended in a mistrial thanks to a texting cop. Opposition is growing to new Warren County jail site, a man fired shots into a Yazoo City officer’s home, Vicksburg Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting, Greenville Police warned of fake Facebook news, and Entergy announced a $100M, 100MW solar power plant for Lake Village. All this and more this week from www.deltadailnews.com.
