Not Guilty Plea Entered in Post Office Burglary

OXFORD, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Georgia man is pleading not guilty to charges that he and an accomplice burglarized a post office in northeast Mississippi. Willie Dean Riggs Jr. of Fairburn, Georgia, entered the plea Tuesday in federal court in Oxford. He and Willie Trimble of Statesboro, Georgia are accused of breaking into the Mooreville post office last November and stealing blank money orders, a money order machine and mail. Each are charged with seven counts including larceny in a post office, theft of blank money orders, theft of mail and destruction of mail. No trial date has been set. Riggs is being held at a prison in Georgia and Trimble remains at large.
